Yeah, the wonkyfm site does seem a little strange in that sometimes I also get a blank screen at first  (using IE on WIN8 or Safari on IOS), refreshing the page 2 or 3 times seems to work !

Here's an hour of old and new (but mainly new) ZX Spectrum Beeper music to mark the occasion.

Yeah, Pixitracker is an interesting app.

I came across this 1-bit album made with it on bandcamp:

Hi Zilog

I've never seen the Didatik M demo tape before either. The music is great, particularly Jan Deak's tune.

Thanks for uploading the .tap smile

Hi d0x10

Are there are any plans for another test of the bitFM 1-bit chipmusic radiostation ?

Here are some links to some Monotone music:

I also knocked up a little 'tune' with it for the compo, written on a vintage laptop I picked up from a charity shop.

Glitch!
(I thought I'd have a go at making this type of music after listening to the Glitch music on the wonky FM radio station)

Wow !

This is amazing smile

Great sound quality and editor, love the video too smile

Well I've done it!

I've re-mortgaged the house, sold the dog (he took it very well) and bought a Spectrum Vega today smile

Mister Beep tells me the Beeper sound quality is great and very accurate so I can't wait to record something from it.

Hopefully some of the thousands of new Vega owners may find their way here if they fancy doing something creative with their new toy (once the nostalgia of Manic Miner and Jetpac has worn off) and write some music to play on it. I plan to post on the Vega forums once mine arrives.

Yes that's true, the time constraint to finish a composition for a compo really does motivate and focus you.
Boiled Down, Water Beeplets and Glitch! were written very quickly on a Friday night after some beers (I think it shows though) smile

Thinking about it, 1-bit is a very niche market, probably even on the fringes on chipmusic fans taste.

But once you're in, you're hooked wink

Wow utz you're on a roll, another very interesting engine !

Would be great to hear something written with it by one of the high speed tritone experts like Brightentayle, Raphaelgoulart, Strobe, Moviemovies1 or FrankT.

What's next?

Can I suggest Qchan XL with a bass channel and quieter drums wink

Thanks a lot utz for organising the compo. As you say, it was a bit disappointing that more people didn't participate, but personally I really enjoyed entering.

Now to write something for octode 2k15 or quattropic smile

I never expected a new version of octode, and with the tuning issues fixed too. Brilliant smile

(The download link is pointing to the Quattropic package btw)

Two great engines so far Utz smile

I love the lofi sound and volume control of qaop (btw any chance of including the xm / tap of the demo tune from soundcloud ? Would be great to know how it sounds on a real Speccy and how you wrote it)

Quattropic is really great too, I love the sound, general tone, bass and balanced percussive sounds.

Can't wait for the next five smile

I agree, great show, I'd love to have been there too. Utz, you looked like you were really enjoying it smile

Btw, was Iztek being played live from the Speccy or from the laptop?  The display on the LCD screen next to the Speccy looked like the Jan Deak tribute album, did you also play Crystal Realm in your set?

Ah yes, how could I forget '1-Bit Music' ?  wink

Fair play to Tristan, he's now got the album on Spotify too!

Was really ZX Beeper music I was interested in though.
