My latest beeper track for this new game.
Bit of an overture
Game is based on the 1920s b&w horror film 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari'

I thought you'd say something about a low-pass
I'm just happy the gadget seems to play our beeper stuff OK now

The fw has now been updated on the new speccy handheld, the ZX Touch. The release notes say it now enables beeper scanning every 4 clock cycles aligning with the execution time of a single z80 instruction. The carrier frequency now exceeding the human audible range on pwm engines again.
Ofcourse I tested a Pytha tune first as I find these the hardest to play correctly (still can’t get Spectronica to play properly on my next with frequency drops in places).
Here’s the ZX Touch in action

Really love this engine utz.
I've created a little yt vid of your demo track on my channel:
https://youtu.be/Yd1G_9fHj5E?si=u55jtwybfNOOBbzD
Do you think it will get included into 1tracker/bintracker or a convertor made?
I've had a look at the asm and the song structure doesn't seem too complicated so I could possibly create a simple track in asm.
I've been listening to this album a lot recently and I think a drone synth tune would be perfect on the ulasynth engine

Hi guys
Came across this tune on YT which it says uses the 'quad tone' engine.

I've not heard of this. Is it a real ZX Beeper engine that can be played on real hardware or one of these ones from packages like furnace tracker?
Good composition

Re: My IBM PC Speaker youtube playlist (4 replies, posted in Other Platforms)
Wow, massive list there.
Started listening to some of them.
Sounds like a few spectrum-like engines in there - Predator 2 for instance
I did a few PC Speaker tunes myself which actually got me into writing speccy 1-bit music
https://tufty1.bandcamp.com/track/bonus … pc-speaker
This was recorded from dosbox and written using monotone on an old Toshiba laptop
I've written a few more PC speaker tunes but never recorded them

Nothing new tune-wise but I've packaged the tunes from my Raw Spectronica album into a .TAP format and added some art.

Hmmm, yeah, I thought it was maybe a bit too good to be true
Seem to be a few 'Spectrum' tunes made with Furnace on YT too. Will be good if they do manage to export files that can be played on real hw to authenticate the tunes.

Brilliant version for the PET

Don't know what engine/software was used to create it.
Be great to hear it playing on a real PET

Just wondered if anyone knew of a utility/converter doc to create loading music (written to screen ram) ?
I’ve seen examples of it with the Star Wars imperial March and I think utz included a couple of bonus tracks done in this way on his dat fuzz cd
Cheers

Many thanks Shiru.
I've managed to compile a sampletracker .tap now which plays great. I'm very excited about writing a tune with this engine.
It doesn't exit to basic though on pressing a key. Seems to get stuck in a loop ?

Re: 1tracker v0.47 (164 replies, posted in Sinclair)
Hi Shiru. Just tried to compile a .tap of the new sampletracker example but it crashes when trying to play back.
The .tap includes a file 40448 bytes in size with a start address of 32768 so I assume this is the issue unless it uses contended memory ?
