Hi Guys

I've not posted for a while but just wondered what projects people were working on the moment?

I'm still working on my latest 1-bit album but it can be hard to motivate myself at the moment. Space Beeps will be about 15mins long!

There will hopefully be about 13-15 tracks and I'm trying to use a selection of engines this time to vary the sound and not just Qchan as before smile

1-bit Mechanistic got a good review here:
lofi-gaming.org.uk

...and I even managed to persuade industry legend Mel Croucher to take a listen smile

So what are you guys up to?

I thought all three tracks were great.

Couldn't guess which engine utz's track used and I actually thought 'Road Song' used the Savage engine when I first heard it. Certainly sounds cleaner than other tritone engined tunes!

I look forward to listening to your Squeeker Plus tune and the other two.

Only 3 entries?  I must admit, I didn't have time to write anything myself. Oh well.

I actually have a Russian guy sitting next to me at work which is great as I often ask him to translate text from forums etc.

Hi Guys

I've had some CDs made of my 1-bit Mechanistic album smile

If anyone would like to add this unique little 1-bit oddity to their chiptune collection, they're now available to buy on my bandcamp page. I've tried to keep the postage costs down.

Once again, HUGE thanks to utz, who's coded the ZX Spectrum demo version. Available on the bandcamp download or here:

Hope you like it smile

Another remarkable engine ever expanding the unique sound of 1-bit beeper!

Txt convertor idea sounds cool too.

Hi abrimaal

welcome back to the forum smile

Love your hybrid and multi-engine / digital stuff. Also, great idea to use Beepola for the editor.

utz - wow, the buzzer effect sounds amazing over the Beeper big_smile

I remember when I used to do sample based Quartet music on the ST back in the 90s I used to export instruments from existing .mod files, usually Amiga ones that had been ported over.

Still have quite a few .mods so I'll probably look through those and test some of the instruments to see which sound OK in the engine.

I view the forum on a mobile most of the time and agree with Garvalf.

The forum is useable but the phone has to be in landscape to see some fields.

That's great news.

I just thought a few included samples (bass/lead/drums) that work particularly well with the engine might speed up the creation of some new tunes?

I'll give it a test later smile

Hehe, you managed it then mate smile

Great news, will give it a try later.

Wahay, now we're cooking !

Looks great, very funky. Certainly brightened up the forum straight away smile

Personally I really like the checker design.

Cheers utz, didn't know that.

Just curious, why do you think it's considered bad style in the demo scene?

Sounds great. Love the drums in Dark Fusion.

Just checked out Oleg's website too, some very impressive new Speccy games on there smile

.Tap sounds great, like the border FX too smile

Would never has guessed 'squeek' engine, I thought it was Octode XL or maybe Octode 2K15/2K16

8 4.67 Lis O'Kryl ^ Therac-25 - Brexit
9 4.29 Garvalf - Horned gods

A bit disappointed with the outcome, but well, there were some very nice works in the compo.

Yeah, I think your digital track should've finished higher. A big breakthrough for ZX Beeper imo

Garvalf - is there an .MP3 or .tap of your song as there doesn't appear to be one in the .zip?

I'm intrigued to know which engine you used. Octode XL ?
