Topic: Mobile apps

I came across this while trawling the Play Store earlier today:
http://www.warmplace.ru/soft/pixitracker/

He says there is a "16-bit" and a "1-bit" version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … racker1bit
Certainly fun to play with smile

His larger program is also cool:

Re: Mobile apps

Yes, these are great tools, especially Pixitracker in 1-bit mode can be used to create some rather convincing 1-bit sounds smile

Re: Mobile apps

Yeah, Pixitracker is an interesting app.

I came across this 1-bit album made with it on bandcamp:

Re: Mobile apps

Wow, didn't know about that one. That sounds great! The guy is on botb iirc.

Re: Mobile apps

There is a tune called "1-bit" in the samples for SunVox, it's a very cool song in my opinion. I've found the version on youtube, and the author of SunVox said it's true 1-bit sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfegDlcUwJU
We can see in the source that for the generators everything is set to 1-bit.
But since there are several tracks, it's maybe not "real" 1-bit.
Anyway it sounds very good and it's a wonderful composition in my opinion (it reminds me some Tim Follin's tunes)...

Re: Mobile apps

As there is no 1-bit hardware involved, I don't consider it "real" 1-bit music, but rather an emulation thereof. But leaving that aside, both Pixitracker and SunVox do a remarkably good job at capturing the real 1-bit spirit.
