Just listened to them myself. Some great tunes and everyone using a different engine (I think), just shows the versatility of the ZX Beeper format
BTW, as I've never entered this contest before, do we vote on our own tracks (as in our 1-bit forum contest) ?
cheers

I think so, yes. The online voting is more of an on-the-side thing anyway, as those votes don't count towards the "official" results.
Online voting results are in (on the votepage), congratulations Shiru for the well-deserved win!
Now waiting for party results...
I do not remember a beeper-compo this strong for a number of years. Lovely work, guys!
Ah, so those were the final results after all. Weird, I don't remember them ever combining online and party votes before.
Anyway, agree with introspec, strongest beeper compo in quite a while, everybody involved has all the reasons to be proud!
I agree, a great compo with some great new ZX Beeper tunes
Garvalf - I thought yours deserved to finish a lot higher, some fine high speed tritone work there.
BTW, my tune 'Space Beeps' actually has an unfinished/unused pattern (9) in the source .bbsong relevant to the title.
I tried to emulate the Apollo 'Quindar tones' or Space Beeps. In the end I didn't have time to finish it so I omitted the pattern.
One Life Left played it on their latest show too:

thanks AtariTufty.
It seems finishing last is a kind of trademark (or destiny) for me...
Hopefully my goal is to create new things. I have a new song ready for the BotB, using the quattropic engine.
Multimatograf 2016:
http://events.retroscene.org/mf2016_rules_main_en.html
"This compo accepts music for such sound chips as AY/YM, Pokey, SID, as well as one-bit digital modules for ZX Spectrum's beeper."
"digital modules" hehehehe I'll give them some digital modules Probably not though, got too much stuff to work on atm.
Hmmm 1-bit digital modules?
Seems like a strange addition to me!
I love 1-bit music but digital 1-bit mod-like music on the Speccy 48K just doesn't do it for me.
As a technical exercise to prove it can be done, I think 1-bit digital music is great but I'd much prefer to listen to the exact same tune played in better quality through an AY chip.
Anyway, just my opinion, what do you guys think ?
It's probably just akward wording/translation, quite sure they mean regular beeper tunes.
On the other hand, if one wanted to take the rules literally, then a tune made with fluidcore/wtfx/qaop/etc would do the trick, since those are technically digi-engines
De:coded 2016 will have a beeper compo, yay!

SillyVenture - beeper compo (GTIA 1bit music)
http://www.sillyventure.eu/en/compos
- MSX GTIA (STANDARD hardware, the music can be played on GTIA chip)
Aye, that's good news, too!
So... will you make us a Pokey+GTIA sound driver, so we can rock the "standard" MSX compo, too?
Yay, more Beeper compos
DiHalt 2016 is coming...
LowEnd compo: ZX Spectrum Beeper Music.

Yeah, I hope I'll find time to submit something... I'm more occupied with some AY stuff at the moment...
Thanks for the reminder, Vinnny! I still haven't prepared anything, but I hope I'll find some time this week.
Looks like quite a few entries for ZX Beeper again
I've now sent mine and I've noticed you guys have already submitted
I've had a bit of trouble with their email spam filter so I've had to resubmit from another email address, I hope the entry was received as it's very close/over the deadline.

Yeah, I think your digital track should've finished higher. A big breakthrough for ZX Beeper imo
Garvalf - is there an .MP3 or .tap of your song as there doesn't appear to be one in the .zip?
I'm intrigued to know which engine you used. Octode XL ?
The mp3:

And I've just put the .tap there:
http://garvalf.online.fr/var/upload/mus … d_gods.tap
It's using the xm2squeek converter, for the squeek engine.
