Many thanks Shiru.

I've managed to compile a sampletracker .tap now which plays great. I'm very excited about writing a tune with this engine.
It doesn't exit to basic though on pressing a key. Seems to get stuck in a loop ?

Hi Shiru. Just tried to compile a .tap of the new sampletracker example but it crashes when trying to play back.

The .tap includes a file 40448 bytes in size with a start address of 32768 so I  assume this is the issue unless it uses contended memory ?

Wow, this is a really exciting development.

Thanks Shiru, can't wait to have a go with it

Hi Shiru

Just noticed there seems to be a bit of an issue with 128K machines on emulators.

On FUSE - +2a/+3 won't play the album - sticks after intro screen
Spectaculator - Toastrack/grey+2/+2a/+3 - sticks after intro screen on all these models

Not tried on real HW yet

Wow !

Absolutely brilliant. Some of the tunes sound like nothing I've heard on the speccy before !

My favourites are Adventure Time and Balls of Steel

Thanks a lot.
That opens up some more exciting possibilities.

As you know, I love using samples in phaser 3 smile

Exciting stuff, thanks Shiru

Just had a quick go. Like the fact you can have volume control of samples

Not sure what the last two columns 'P' and 'o' are ?
Don't seem to be mentioned in the .txt file

cheers

I used a program called Corrscope that was mentioned in a vid I noticed on yt yesterday with an excellent tritone tune

Very easy to use and I was amazed I managed to get it to work so easily, after downloading the ffmpeg addins

Yeah the 2 values are a bit strange.

I missed out on 2nd spot by a similar margin last time so I'm not complaining big_smile

Yeah, the vids seem to have quiet audio even if I turn up the volume.
I use Hyper Cam 2 and a spectrum emulator.

More oompf in my oscilloscope vid smile

Congrats utz, excellent track as always.
High quality compo as you guys have said.

I agree about Noise in my head. My favourite, love those drums and delays. I actually thought it was phaser 3 as I’ve heard a phaser 3 track on BOTB with a similar lead sound.

I thought AER’s squat track might’ve been Utz’s at first, again very cool track that I’ll listen to over and over.

I Spent a lot of time on Heartbeat so hoped it would do well.

Yo yo on the other hand, just a few hours but I thought it worth entering as a contrast to the other types of tracks I knew would be entered smile

I might tidy it up a bit for a YouTube release with a suitable mad clubber digitised picture smile

Can't wait to have a go at composing on them.
Think I've taken my phaser 3 composing skills as far as I can now. Time to try a new engine smile

Hi Shiru

I use 1-tracker for all my beeper tune compositions these days and find it pretty easy to use now.
Can I request a new feature.

The ability to compile the tune to a specific address ?

All of my phaser 3 tunes have had to be relocated as they've been used in games but I usually have trouble tweaking the .asm to compile with sjasmplus so being able to compile to a user definable address would be great

cheers

Jonathan - Trick or Treat

New ZX Spectrum game just released that I wrote the music for.

Intro tune uses phaser 3 and for the ingame/game over music I used the old faithful 80s engine, Wham the music box as mem was tight.

3 in-game tunes to choose from and multiple samples (press 1-7 after loading or any other key for the default 'Tubular Beeps')

For in-game sfx I made some 1-bit samples using Shiru's BeepFX (absolutely brilliant for creating speccy samples, particularly for converting down 8-bit samples)

Download is here:

Welcome to the forum Andy. As utz says, not the busiest forum but we do check regularly and always great to see new members.
A mine of invaluable info is available here in relation to 1-bit sound and engines.
