A bit disappointed with the outcome, but well, there were some very nice works in the compo.

Yeah, I think your digital track should've finished higher. A big breakthrough for ZX Beeper imo

Garvalf - is there an .MP3 or .tap of your song as there doesn't appear to be one in the .zip?

I'm intrigued to know which engine you used. Octode XL ?

Looks like quite a few entries for ZX Beeper again smile

I've now sent mine and I've noticed you guys have already submitted smile

I've had a bit of trouble with their email spam filter so I've had to resubmit from another email address, I hope the entry was received as it's very close/over the deadline.

Wow, you're on fire!

Another amazing engine(s)

Something completely new again, very impressive as usual.

Like the demo tune too smile

Yes I always use the mic socket when recording from real hardware but the output through the ear socket sounded similar to the output through the Spectaculator emulator.  I just wondered if emulators are usually coded to reproduce beeper output as if through the ear socket?

I also remember a thread on here a while ago discussing the volume difference between the 2 ports and how some engines back in the day tried to use this, Odin tunes?

Hi

Just tried the demo tunes on real hardware (48k rubber keyed issue 4b)

Played well through the mic socket (on headphones) and there appeared to be silence on the silent parts (although overall volume was very low anyway) but through the ear socket there was a much more pronounced parasite whine constantly.

Is this how the engine was designed - to be output through the mic socket ?

cheers

Really nice. A pretty unique sound to this one, like a sort of 1bit / AY hybrid. Very cool.

Great tune as usual too, like the volume control on the click drums smile

I like the chip pins look too smile

Perfect, that's great. Gets my vote smile

Cool, both look good and also number 2 on post 13.

Any of those would be great, what do you think guys?

Haha, OK looks good as it is too smile

Cheers utz, didn't realise they were now the MTO.

There live performances look interesting, setup like Kraftwerk.

I like it too, as Garvalf says, maybe a "-" between the 1 and bit and also a small space between the 't' and 'f' to make it more readable?

Have you seen this?

Quite old now but I think it's pretty good. These guys should make a come back and try some of the modern engines available!

Yeah I agree, we could definitely do with a revamp! I've been meaning to have a go at a banner myself for ages but am pretty crap at graphics.

Would be nice to get the screen size to fit on a smart phone in portrait mode too, like the old forum used to. On an iPhone the phone has to be rotated to landscape to display all the columns.

Hadn't noticed the subtle header text change, nice and concise smile

This is great, very impressive. Love the music video feel to it smile

I'm amazed there was any processor time left for animation while playing Mister Beep's Interstellar Drift Octode XL tune!

AY drums on the 128K too?

Nice idea smile

I've been very busy at work recently so haven't been very active on the forum but my enthusiasm for 1-bit hasn't diminished.

Maybe a list of allowed engines for the compo?
