I am a bit unsure how to name the new patterns before i put in some notes. I place them in all 4 slots.
From lsdj i know, if i place a new pattern by double tap a, the program will check that i always make a new pattern to avoid issues. Wich rules must i follow to avoid any problems?

Not sure I understand the question, but have you filled all 4 positions on the current row of the sequence? If you have gaps in the sequence, like this:

00 01 -- --
02 -- -- --

there will be random notes and effects.
